Turkish celebrities detained in Istanbul drug probe
ISTANBUL
Istanbul prosecutors launched a drug investigation targeting 19 celebrities, who were detained by narcotics teams for questioning and blood samples on suspicions of using narcotics.
The operation, directed by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, saw the suspects transported to the Provincial Gendarmerie Command for statements and testing.
The full list of those detained includes: Birce Akalay, Berrak Tüzünataç, Ceren Moray Orcan, Demet Evgar Babataş, Deren Talu, Derin Talu, Dilan Polat, Duygu Özaslan Mutaf, Engin Polat, Feyza Altun, Hadise Açıkgöz, İrem Derici, Kaan Yıldırım, Kubilay Aka, Mert Yazıcıoğlu, Metin Akdülger, Özge Özpirinçci, Zeynep Meriç Aral Keskin, Ziynet Sali.
Authorities have not released further details on the probe, which follows tips or evidence of drug use among the high-profile figures.
